Its Developement

BodyTalk was first developed in the 1990's by Dr. John Veltheim.  He is a chiropractor, traditional acupuncturist, philospher, Reiki Master, and teacher.  Originally from Australia, John ran a very succussful clinic in Brisbane for 15 years.  He was also the Principle of the Brisbane College of Acupuncture and Natural Therapies for 5 years.  His extensive post graduate studies include applied kinesiology, bioenergetic psychology, osteopathy, sports medicine, counseling, comparative philosophy, and theology.

In 1998, John moved to Sarasota, Florida, to further his practice and research of BodyTalk.  Soon he began to teach the BodyTalk System to healthcare professionals as well as lay people.  When the word got out about the successes of this amazing new system, he took on the task of training other instructors so the BodyTalk System could be taught World Wide.

World Wide Focus 

By July 2005 there were over 75 instructors teaching in 24 countries with translations in 8 languages.  Currently these include; English, German, Maltese, Swedish, Spanish, Portuguese, French, and Hebrew.  The International BodyTalk Association (IBA), is headquartered in Sarasota, Florida, United States, and has thousands of professional members worldwide.  To offer support for BodyTalk Practitioners abroard, an additional branch is operating in Germany, while such distant regions as Brazil, South Africa, and the Far East are in line for additional IBA branches in the near future.

Broadening the Scope

The BodyTalk System is continuosly evolving through research by Dr. Veltheim and the academic committee of the IBA.  The BodyTalk System has, at its core, brilliant protocol and procedure charts that can be easily adapted to all energy systems.  The application of BodyTalk has expanded well beyond the pre-existing fields of healthcare.  The BodyTalk System is proving to be effective in a wide range of applications such as sports and other performance applications, animal health, plant care and crop improvement, and ecological repair.

Into the Future

PaRama College was established by John and Esther Veltheim to expand knowledge and training in many fields of healthcare and the human potential.  PaRama College is for those who desire to seek advanced education within The BodyTalk System.  Currently, PaRama College has developed a DVD home-study training series.  Plans are being prepared to build a permanent college to offer full-time education in The BodyTalk System, PaRama philosophies and related subjects.
